ABOUT US

Sabi Sands & Kruger Wildlife Safari Lodges website is a booking service for accommodation at hotels, holiday resorts, lodges and safaris in the Kruger National Park area that includes the adjoining private game reserves & wildlife lodges of the Greater Kruger Park.  This Sabi Sands & Kruger Wildlife Park  website is owned by Tour Operator, African Bundu Safaris, based in South Africa and has since 1996 been offering tourists from all over the world, an excellent, personal & friendly service for their holidays, safaris and vacations to Southern Africa.

Often people will have a holiday to the Kruger National Park as part of their annual holiday, with a visit to either a private wildlife reserve or to other fabulous attractions such as Vic Falls, Cape Town, Zululand, Drakensberg Mountains, Botswana and the Okavango Delta or even a beach vacation in Mozambique as portion of it – so we, together with our other websites: Accommodation in Africa, Accommodation in Zambia, Accommodation in Botswana, Accommodation in NamibiaAccommodation in Tanzania,  and African Bundu Safaris, can plan your entire vacation, which shall include airport transfers, transit accommodation, safaris, guided tours, car rental, luxury hotels or wildlife lodges and internal flights.

We do NOT mark up the tariffs for the different lodges or hotels – we will charge you the public rates, including when there are special offers.

The most common method we use to get our clients to the lodges, are the aircraft transfers, as the roads transfer takes so much longer, unlike a flight, which would take an hour or two. We shall book your flight transfers in conjunction with your accommodation.

Owner of African Bundu Safaris, Dean, is well travelled throughout all the countries. He started travelling in 1978 with his first safari to Namibia and since then has been to Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zanzibar, South Africa and Mocambique on many occasions, either in a private capacity or with clients. Dean used to be a Tour Guide, where he personally travelled with clients on safaris and after guiding for 6 years gaining valuable first-hand experience and knowledge, he resigned to the office, where he now has a hands-on approach to the planning of every safari – either guided or self-drive holidays.

African Bundu Safaris was located in Durban, the premier coastal holiday city of South Africa, however, in February 2006, Dean relocated to a lovely small village in the eastern Free State province. His village is basically halfway between Durban and Johannesburg and from the office, there are stunning views of the Drakensberg and Maluti Mountains. Nearby attractions include the Golden Gates National Park, Witsieshoek with the hotel and mountain track for easy access to the Royal Natal National Parks Amphitheatre Mountain and the famous chain ladder to Mont-aux-Sources.  Regular clients of African Bundu Safaris, Nik and Angela, took this wonderful panoramic photo of the Drakensberg and Maluti Mountains, a few hours after it was snowing in August 2006, with the Amphitheatre on the left, spanning across to the town of Phuthaditjhaba and Kestell on the right.

A short drive away is the Basutho Cultural Village, Mount Everest game reserve in Harrismith, Clarens golf estate plus art galleries and restaurants, and various small game reserves and hiking trails.  In the village of Kestell, is also the 2nd largest sandstone church in the province, and is a declared National Monument!  Here's a photo a client of African Bundu Safaris, Nik, took of the church when he stayed in Kestell for a few nights.

There is no disadvantage to book your holiday with us – in fact, there are many advantages - as we get updates from the various private lodges about special offers, we can organise and book your entire holiday, from the moment your plane lands at Johannesburg or Cape Town international airports - which includes the airport transfers, all accommodation, wildlife safaris - whether self-drive or guided or with a Ranger in an open vehicle 4x4 at a private reserve and all internal flights - not only to Kruger Park and Sabi Sands Reserves, but to all holiday destinations in neighbouring countries of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zanzibar and of course Zimbabwe as well.

With the internet having thousands of different websites and the vast majority of lodges having their own websites, a tourist surfing for information often becomes confused with the amount of information on wildlife safari lodges and which to choose from.  We are not biased with any shares or profits in any wildlife lodge, so Dean expresses his honest opinion from personal experience and knowledge.  We do NOT BOOK CAMPSITES and also no longer book the chalets, bungalows and cabins inside Kruger Park at the public rest camps. (Just too many complaints from clients about the tardy service, food in restaurants and now the National Parks insist we sign a 31 page contract AND print it out (waste of paper for a conservation company!?).  Some of the safaris we offer are camping safaris, these are package tours with a set itinerary, dates and times.  The most popular is the 4-day Kruger Adventure, which includes 2 days camping inside Kruger Park and 1 night at a private reserve outside of Kruger Park.

HOW TO CONTACT US:  We have omitted our telephone number and e-mail off this website, as we get inundated by marketing companies (like Ananzi, Braby's etc), plus spammers with junkmail.  So, if you want to contact us - for a booking or more information (though our website is quite comprehensive with lots of information), then please complete our enquiry form.  It is an enquiry form, not a booking form, so no commitment unless you ask for an actual booking.
