Ngala Private Game Reserve sits on the western boundary of world-renowned Kruger National Park, South Africa's largest wildlife sanctuary and one of the biggest nature reserves in the world (encompassing 2 million hectares of wilderness). Also adjacent to the Timbavati Game Reserve, Ngala lies deep in the heart of the South African lowveld, in one of the richest wildlife regions on the continent. The Reserve supports a great diversity of large and spectacular wildlife – elephant, spotted hyena, giraffe, buffalo and white rhino. Meaning "lion" in Shangaan, Ngala is home to several prides of these big cats. Cheetah and African wild dog also regularly move through the Reserve.
