FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We are a company, owned by a South African & based in South Africa and covering the whole of Kruger Park and the private lodges in and around Kruger Park and Sabi Sands. Dean, the owner of a Tour Operator company since 1996, after having travelled for over 20 years, on various holidays & safaris from Cape Town to Mount Kilimanjaro, created African Bundu Safaris. First he became a Tour Guide, to gain more personal experience in the destinations and after 6 years of Guiding, he became the office manager. Every year, Dean takes a few weeks off, to visit a certain region, to update himself on the changes, improvements and latest information in a region, by visiting a dozen lodges and tourist attractions. We are a small company, thus our overheads are low, and our service is personal, friendly & efficient. Read our Guest Comments on the African Bundu Safaris website: www.absafaris.co.za
We only charge public rates and most lodges send us their special offers before they are released to the public. There are some lodges that we do not list nor support - and so probably best not to ask us about them or to book you into them, to avoid any embarassing situations. The listed lodges are our recommended ones.
We survive off the small commission that is included in the public rates, and so there is no financial advantage for you to book direct, as the rate is the same. Remember, we do not own any of the lodges and so have no bias towards any of them- Dean will give his honest opinion on them and why he prefers one lodge to another.
Our office is open weekdays from 08h00 until 16h30 weekdays – South African time – which is GMT + 2 hours or New York + 6 hours. Occasionally on a weekend, Dean is in the office, mainly to do administration work. If you are phoning, please consider our office hours.
We prefer via e-mail. This is fast & efficient and your enquiry can be answered then, accurately and efficiently. Due to time zones between you, and us we might not be in the office if you phone at your convenient time. We do not phone international, we only e-mail our clients. If you phone after our office hours, then I am ‘off duty’ and thus out of the office, so do not have facts and figure with me – and might be eating dinner, watching TV, at church, entertaining friends or worse still, sleeping – so, always best to send an e-mail: 2safari at kwd.co.za (replace the word at with a @ symbol)
If I have not answered your enquiry within 24-48 hours, I probably did not receive it, due to our spam filter or it got lost in cyber space. Make sure you have the appropriate subject title, like: "Sabi holiday 10 June for family 4"
Our office is in South Africa. We are an international and well established company and been in business since 1996. We communicate via e-mail, fax and telephone directly with the establishments. Dean has travelled frequently to Kruger Park and Sabi Sands reserve, plus meets 2 or 3 times a year with lodge & hotel owners, either at tradeshows or when he visits the establishments to update himself on the latest developments. Dean can talk from 1st-hand experience about the various establishments, having visited 95% of them and actually slept at about 75% of them.
