Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge
Tony & Alma invite you to experience their oasis in the African bush – Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge. Situated in the vast Balule Nature Reserve, which is part of the western sector of the Greater Kruger National Park, and so is home to a superb variety of fauna and flora, including the “Big 5”.

The Lodge is easily accessible, and centrally located, yet one enters an entirely different world once within the camp. Life slows down to the rhythms of the African bush, and the rising and setting of the sun dictates the camps movements. The emphasis of the lodge is on close-up encounters with Africa’s spectacular wildlife, giving its guests a memorable safari experience.  The Safari Lodge offers just 6 comfortable thatched ethnic Rondawels decorated in an African theme, as well as two family lodges. The Rondawels each have a delightful al fresco shower, allowing for a great view of the bush whilst enjoying a refreshing wash. The Rondawels are fully insect proofed and have overhead fans.

There is a sparkling swimming pool and an outdoor lapa with a vista to a well-frequented waterhole. There are four twin bedded Rondawels and two with a king size bed. It is also possible to place a small sleeper bed in the room for a young child.  Family Lodges offer superb comfort for small parties. Each Lodge has two rooms with an interleading door for privacy. One room has a Queen bed and the other has two single beds - it is possible to add a sleeper bed too, thereby accommodating five guests. Each room has its own facilities and al fresco shower. The Lodges are equipped similarly to the Rondawels.

The African night sky is clear and studded with an incredible and bewildering amount of stars. The lodges Rangers are skilled at pointing out constellations and deep sky objects using laser pointers and a large telescope; stargazing is a popular activity at Mohlabetsi.

Romantic dinners are served around the fire in the reeded Boma or on the lawn under the stars. Fresh local ingredients are used and many of our condiments and herbs are produced here at the Lodge. The accent is on typical South African country fare, with dishes to suit all palates. Special requests are handled with pleasure!
